Proud to Lend Support to Relief Efforts in Louisiana

Last week the Ad Council called to ask us a favor. They were working on a TV spot to encourage donations for relief efforts in Louisiana and wondered if Extreme Reach would distribute the spot pro-bono. Of course we would. Absolutely.

Following the severe flooding that caused such devastation in Louisiana, the Ad Council stepped into high gear, working with Austin-based ad agency GSD&M to produce, in a matter of days, a beautiful 30-second television spot encouraging Americans to donate funds to support relief efforts for the thousands of people impacted. Today we will distribute the public service announcement (PSA) to media outlets nationwide. We are honored to have a hand in raising awareness of what is now considered to be the worst U.S. natural disaster since Hurricane Sandy in 2012.

As Lisa Sherman, president and CEO of Ad Council said, “It has been heartbreaking to watch the news and hear the stories of the thousands of people in Louisiana whose homes, neighborhoods and lives have been devastated by the floods. But in moments of tragedy, it’s always inspiring to see how many people come forward to help. Everyone can do something and this new spot poignantly shows how, whether near or far, it is our turn to help.”

Take a look at the PSA, called “Our Turn.” The music is from the Austin-based indie band, Wiretree, and that familiar voice is Matthew McConaughey. It’s amazing what can happen in only 30 seconds of sight, sound and motion. We hope it moves you to visit OurTurnToHelp.org to help in any way you can.
